Watercolour No.3 – Sweet Peas

photo (4)

This is testimony to my watercolour attitude becoming freer – allowing the colours to bleed into one another in a semi-controlled manner upon wet paper – using the blank, off-white paper as my base colour, not as something to cover up.

I love Sweet Peas. They are super easy to grow if you’ve got a little space and a trellis or canes for them to crawl up. They will give you a bounty of sweet smelling flowers of all sorts of colours. If you clip off their flowers regularly, transferring them to a vase inside, then more will burst into life in their place.
